Yesterday's high was 81º, as opposed to the 88º in the city, thanks to the persistent stratus deck that should be and is history for today. Though frankly I was surprised it got so hot even in the city. The dew point was sitting in the mid 70's, so yeah summer was definitely feeling like it yesterday. We managed to get some decent rain though, 0.46".

Yesterday's storms were largely a bust.
Well, yesterday failed to provide the thunderstorm action that looked dead certain early on and heck, it failed to provide anything beyond some heavy rain late in the afternoon. No t-storms at all occurred here. This after SPC put up a watch box rather early. But~ There was some good stuff in the city in the form of a 53mph gust front that didn't even look like a gust front when it came in, but whatever. I was on the roof when that sucker ripped through. Twas nice. Very very nice XD But again, the only lightning that happened were a few strikes over the ocean when that cluster came off the Jersey shore right before sunset. The NWS had no warnings out for the gust front. Big surprise here, huh? Oh, and take a wild guess where the good stuff did happen? That's right, on the mainland. Jersey, the Hudson Valley & CT. Same as all the other days this week. So yeah, a total bust for east, but cashed in big time west & north. There were two tornado warnings out, but I've no clue if anything actually happened with those.
