Now then, for today, there's a huge line of storms & rain coming through PA now. That should be here within a few hours. SPC does have a slight risk area up, but w/o much heating, there won't be lift, so~ it's probably going to be a bust day when it comes to the good stuff.

Sunny days make for boring reports~
Nothing much to talk about for yesterday. It was just a sunny, and not much else day. Oh, I did carry "clear" in one ob at work for the first time in like two or three weeks, so that was interesting xD Wow, really not much to talk about for yesterday... Meh, quiet days are good too~ And 83º isn't bad for early August.

Yesterday's storms were largely a bust.
Well, yesterday failed to provide the thunderstorm action that looked dead certain early on and heck, it failed to provide anything beyond some heavy rain late in the afternoon. No t-storms at all occurred here. This after SPC put up a watch box rather early. But~ There was some good stuff in the city in the form of a 53mph gust front that didn't even look like a gust front when it came in, but whatever. I was on the roof when that sucker ripped through. Twas nice. Very very nice XD But again, the only lightning that happened were a few strikes over the ocean when that cluster came off the Jersey shore right before sunset. The NWS had no warnings out for the gust front. Big surprise here, huh? Oh, and take a wild guess where the good stuff did happen? That's right, on the mainland. Jersey, the Hudson Valley & CT. Same as all the other days this week. So yeah, a total bust for east, but cashed in big time west & north. There were two tornado warnings out, but I've no clue if anything actually happened with those.
Yesterday's high was 81º, as opposed to the 88º in the city, thanks to the persistent stratus deck that should be and is history for today. Though frankly I was surprised it got so hot even in the city. The dew point was sitting in the mid 70's, so yeah summer was definitely feeling like it yesterday. We managed to get some decent rain though, 0.46".

First post
Okay, well as the blab of text in the side bar says. This place will serve as a daily weather log, as I have found that such topics get little press on my main blog, due to it's focus on my hobbies, life & such. I am intending to make this blog more visually enticing, but not right now. Oh, and the posts will be almost all text, but I'll keep them as short as I can unless something big comes up.
Um, yeah, so basically that's it for now. So, with that in mind....
Today's wx looks a bit dreary. It's cloudy with a ton of rain off to the west and north. Pretty much where it's been all week. The mainland gets slammed & we get nothing. Though if any of this stuff decides to drop a twister like that cell in Orange County a few days ago, then they can keep it. lol Yesterday's weather was pretty boring, but semi-hot. A high of 86º with the dew point hovering in the low 70's. Pretty disgusting actually, but not as bad as it could have been.
